Wooooww!!! That's bravery!!!! It's a crazy world: me making a '90 Lla froma Mongram 87/88, you making a '88 froma '93!!! The thing is that sidepods are quite taller in the '88 machine, and tub is significantly stubbier (is that the word, I mean fat). Don't forget the "pyramidal" sides that emerge from the engine cover sides. May I suggest: why not taking measures from the amt bodywork instead of the instructions?? The drawings don't look spot on on scale, the plastic body really seems to. Is this a one-off or will it have some sisters??

Stu,
I have a set of original Lola drawings for the T8700 which differs only slightly from the T8800, IIRC. If they can be of use to you let me know.

I still have many more modifications to do before I even think of priming it.
Ralph - I think I have a set of wheel covers that you gave me many years ago. I will check! Thanks!
Bo - I would love a copy of the drawings. Can they be scanned and emailed? stubenford@yahoo.com
Thanks guys!

Thanks to Bo for the Lola drawing. This will help me get the correct angle/slope of the nose. I already see that I will have to redo some work in that area. Thanks Bo!

Wait until "The Flying Dutchman" sees this baby!!! He saw my 85 Dutch Treats I made you. Arie sent me many photos he had of the car, of course I returned them. Arie is a good man. I asked Arie if he wanted the 85 & he said he has the real one so he didn't need the model lol.

Things have been crazy busy for me so I am just getting back to this one. Getting closer after all the body mods, etc. Ground away the seat belts and installed ribbon belts with PE hardware More body work...sand...more body work...sand... Long story short! Paint and decals! Assembly soon.

I'm wondering if those were Willins belts? They were pretty well used in that era. Awesome work on a beautiful livery.

Thanks to Bo for the Lola drawing. This will help me get the correct angle/slope of the nose. I already see that I will have to redo some work in that area. Thanks Bo! Stu When I did the 82 Unser Galmer I had to drop the angle of the nose because the 93 Lola was too gradually sloped. It wasn't that difficult after I figured the plan of attack. Plus the nose had to be much more pointy. Amazing what you can do with metal, little tougher but can be done.

It looks great, Stu. You really cannot see the '93 Lola in the car anymore. Very enjoyable to watch your progress.

5 tries later I finally made a windscreen. I purchased five candle light bulbs to do it! You see, the candle light bulbs come in a clear plastic blister pack so I carefully cut it out to make my windscreen. Carefully cut it out five times until I got a good one! LOL After I cut it out I painted the underside of it. Need to install some mirrors, wheel nuts and mount it on a base and it will be good to go.

That windshield is awesome. I would have never thought of using that. There are many things outside the normal that I have found useful in modeling, just think it through & look around. I have found the 2 piece grommets for tarps can be used for a turbo trumpet, only use the big part. Straws & swizzle sticks can be used for exhaust pipes. All kinds of odd things can double for parts.
