Hi,
It's my first post outside introduction Thanks again for welcome
I have project to build the Eagle with Ford Weslake engine driven by Jochen Rindt in 1967 (because Indycals make decals)
One of my ideas is to mix Eagle '66 of Oval Track Legends and engine +exhaust of MPC 68 Olsonite Eagle I think Rindt used one of 66 chassis
I would like to know your opinion ? I am not specialized about Eagle Is it the same engine ? Top of '68 engine seems slightly different ? (inclinaison of trumpets, admission pipe ?)
Thanks

My information is that the Rindt car was a 67 Eagle. My photos show the 67 side tank, but the engine cover looks very much like the 66. The injector stacks were straight up, and down on the 67, and canted inward on the 68. The best photo I have is a very small one from the Ludvigsen book "Gurneys Eagles". Be aware that the headers are not the same as the 68 MPC kit. Looks like a great project, Good Luck. If you proceed, I will try to get you a useable photo.

Thanks for your help ;-) I have seen the difference on injectors stacks inclinaison (I have others pictures of 67 engine in french "Sport auto" magazine and "L'année automobile" book, I could post them). But don't seen not the headers. Thks Other dark point, I think in 1966 factory eagle had symetrical suspensions but in 67 it seems had asysmetrical (on Gurney and Grant) . I don't found front picture of Rindt car. For chassis, I found these and if it is correct Rindt's car was same chassis that Gurney Indy 1966 www.oldracingcars.com/eagle/66/www.oldracingcars.com/eagle/67/

Like most of the internet, that site contains lots of good information, and lots of bad information. In your case, it really makes little difference. The only available 66-67 Indy Eagle kit, in 1/25 is the one Gary, and I did. To build the Rindt car, you will need to make the side tank, and do a lot of work on the engine, as the heads, valve covers, injectors, and headers are not the same. The headers are close enough to use IMO. The Rindt car had the Mk 111 heads, while the MPC engine is the Mk1V. The 67 car has a 1 inch offset on the suspension, which is very doable in 1/25. In 1/25, 1 inch is about 1mm. My "go to" source for photos is Walt (oldphotos), if anyone can help, it's Walt. Again, Good Luck on your project. Craig
