I'm bringing some Heller 1/24 F1's out of the stash and might as well ask the opinions of others before I muck up the product -
What do you all think would be the best colors and type of paint for the suspension bits on these cars?
Do the ModelMaster Metallizers colors brush well enough on this small of a surface to make a presentable effect? And if so, what color?
Thanks, Rick

For the BT33 I think chrome is fine(maybe with a little dull cote spray.). I've seen the Lotus 49 with front rocker arms that were chrome. The metalizers (I've been told ) don't brush well. I use the chrome auto spray cans that aren't overally shiny for most period cars. It's up for you to decide.

HI Rick,
I have been brushing some of the non-buffing metalizers lately and they seem to be ok. I have not sealed them so I expect I will have to handle them very carefully. It seems a lot of the suspension parts were polished pretty good, both aluminum and steel. I also use all the Tamiya colors (plus their flat base) and mix special colors with those as well as Model Master, Humbrol, and others..... I guess the answer is that you just want to match what pictures you can find. Mixing chrome and black, or aluminum and white, etc., etc., can yield a lot of variations plus flat or gloss. Then there are washes on the engines, and trannys, and such, to bring out details. I just like to play around with the different things you can come up with and sometimes it comes out pretty good! LOL!!
