I feel like I was present at the birth of a child, and watched the child grow into an adult! A very impressive adult! --Frank

Kip: Wow...amazing...incredible...awesome...unbelievable...give me time; I'll think of more... Really cool build and wonderful result! Scratch building can be a PITA, but the results are often worth it, as this build proves...keep up the great work! Tim

Really nice work on both, I agree the '68 might turn out to be my favorite, too. Did this car run inboard brakes? I had not really thought about that before.

Jordan
Photos of the 1968 show that it did not have inboard brakes. I have no photos of the 1969 that show the axle areas, but I assume the 1969 was the same as the 1968. Thanks to everyone for looking and the kind words.

You left both Duane, and Tim at a loss for words. That is no small feat. Great work, Kip.

The 1968 Mallard is finished. I started this project in the middle of March. Nobody can accuse me of being a fast builder. The turbo on the 1968 is different than the 1969. The lower piping with the red couplings must have been internal on the 1969. Did a better job on the cockpit on this one. The 1968 and 1969 Mallards. I love the nose decal on the 1969, but overall, I gotta go with the 1968. Once again, many thanks to Juanjo Mas foe his advice, support, and encouragement. GWS did the decals and they are great. Thanks also to Walt and James and to everyone that followed these builds. I now have built the 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1968, and 1969 Hurtubise Indy cars. I have started an old Gary Doucett Demler 99 and have Lance’s Mallard to build and it looks like Lance is going to do the 1974 McLaren. Thanks for looking. kip

Thanks for the kind words Tim, Craig, Sandy, Duane, Calvin and Andy. After scratch building these, I am afraid building from kits will never be the same again. This was a lot of fun.

Hey Kip! All I can think about are the dozens of cars that I would like to try and build by this method...even watching you and Juango do this, it has changed my mind about how to scratch build and do one of a kind cars...again, excellent job!
