Absolutely jaw dropping! You have the 'eye' for how things should look. You have the ability to not only build properly but you know how to pull off that 'real' look.
Most people can build a model but very few can make it look real.
It's kind of like the difference between standard definition TV and 1080i. All those little details add up for a good picture and, in this case a great overall model.

If you did an out side shot it would look like the real thing. Awesome build with a lot of extras.

Excellent! Did you use Alcad on the suspension or polish the metal? I tried Alcad on my Foyt kit and was disappointed because it didn't hold up well to assembly; rubbed off. I see scale nuts on the suspension, nice touch too. Are those scale rivets too or is that the casting detail?
I see photo etched parts and what seat belts did you use, nice weave pattern!

Dave Thanks Dave. The suspension is all metal of either aluminum or stainless steel. The front lower A-arms were fabricated in brass and painted with Tamiya Silver Leaf as the original ones were also painted. The rivets were a raised decal by Archer Fine Transfers sheet number AR88016 added prior to painting. The belts are from an old Modelers set that I have had for a long time. You can achieve a similar pattern with cloth medical tape.

Really great looking work. Looks very much like the 1:1. I have enjoyed the WIP when I get a chance to see it (I mostly check in behind a firewall that blocks Fotki).

Jim,
I've been an admirer of your work for a while, and this is why. The details and the scratchbuilding you added to elevate this model are impressive. Great work! I hope to see you do more open wheel subjects that we can see here.

What a fantastic job you've done! If it wasn't identified as a model, I'd think it was the real thing. Your model flatters the original - it actually looks better than the full size car!
