Santa was good to me. I got a copy of the Fujimi 1:20 Ferrari 126C2 "clear body" Good looking kit. I have a few clear body kits already but I haven't tackled any of them yet. Also got a 6 pack of Tamiya Spray paints. Maybe I'll be able to finish one of the 12+ kits I have half finished on my work bench.
So ... What new models did you guys get for Christmas?

Didn't get a model, but I got the DVD "Can-Am, A Speed Odyssey" which besides Indy is my other major interest. Very good vintage footage narrated by Sam Posey and Jim Hall. It covers the 'real' Can Am series from '66 to '73 year by year. Oddly a couple of years that were McLaren sweeps were covered in a few minutes. Otherwise good coverage. Recommended for Can Am and vintage fans. On the lighter side there was a wrapped package under the tree that said "To Sandy, From the Mailman". It was a shipment of resin parts (Indy tires!) from Norm Vebber's Replicas & Miniatures. My wife had intercepted it in the mail on the 24th, wrapped it and placed it with the other presents! Happy Holidays to all, Sandy

No models this year, a couple of nice slot cars, tho, and two books that haven't arrived yet: Pete Lyons' "Can-Am Photo History" & Ludvigsen's "Gurney's Eagles". Can't wait to see them.

No modeling stuff. Got and iPod, iTunes gift cards, and Guitar Hero for my DS mostly....
Got some QT with Mom which was important but the funniest thing on Christmas Day was my wife opening the '96 F1 Ferrari diecast/plastic kit I made years and years ago. She was not amused until she saw the spa gift card taped to the bottom of the display case! ;D

No modeling stuff here either, but since I got the wife a Wii with the Wii Fit, my parents got me the Indianapolis 500 Legends game to go with it. Those Watsons are tough to wheel around the turns!

A Wii Indy 500 Game?!?!?! We gave our kids a Wii system, but I didn't see this game on the rack at Wal Mart. Darn, where did they get it? Gotta have this! Sandy

Sandy - I have seen the game at Target, but my mom said she couldn't find it and ended up ordering it off Amazon.

Thanks for the info. Now I'll have something other than "Nancy Drew" and "Endless Ocean" to play! Sandy

A few nice gift cards from Olive Garden, California Pizza Kitchen, WalMart, Target, etc. I wanted one from my favorite hobby store but my daughter (via her mom) couldn't find the store.
And I bought myself an IPhone for Christmas. I worked my butt off this year and felt a reward was warranted.

If anyone is interested in the Wii Indy 500 game the local Game Stop store guy said its been discontinued, but I ordered one from Amazon. If you have a Target nearby macsparty said he's seen one there. Thanks to macsparty for the info and Amazon lead. Happy New Year, Sandy

LMK what you guys think of the Wii version. I looked up reviews of the DS version of the game and most were giving it 50% scores so I didn't bother picking up a copy though it might appeal to me more than most.... Jordan

Jordan - I think you would like it. I can see how some reviewers might not like it. It's not a shooter, it's not an arcade game, you don't get to design your own cars (or steal them or whatever) and you don't get to go 300 mph. It is what it is - a look at Indy in the 60s. As such, it will probably appeal to a pretty narrow audience. But I think it's pretty safe to say that guys who like to build models of cars from that era probably fall within that audience. Plus I saw it at Target for only 15 bucks, which is a lot better than 50 for Mario Kart or Lego Star Wars (both of which I also want!).

I get the salmon or chicken entrees and am rarely disappointed. However, after reading about the Wii Indy 500 game, and buying a Wii for my daughter, I'd trade the CPK card for the Wii game immediately.

Franchi 12 guage over under and the green light to get a German Short-haired pointer. When I'm not building models I'm shooting trap, skeet and birds. Another inexpensive hobby.
