I've been away from the forum for a long time, and I'm trying to get back into some conversions. I went to the Speedway yesterday to hang out, and saw this model of Rick Mears 1991 winner. To my eye, it looks like it could be converted from a 90's Lola. Do any of you know if that would work, or is there any other car that can be used?

Jeff, this is probably based off of a PC20 resin kit/body. Gary Doucette offered one in the 90's. Word is Perry Resin's owns the molds now but is sitting on them. Bill Jorgensen put out a PC20 earlier this decade, not sure if they are still being poured by Bill - might want to email him. IIRC our own Dr. Dave supplied the master for Bill's PC20.

Jordan The name tag says built by Gary Doucette, so I guess that answers that.

Sorry, guess I didn't give all the details. I only make 1/18 diecast cars and I'm trying to figure out if I could use a Mi-Jack Lola car I already have, or if I need to used a Paul Tracy PC-22 and use alot of syrene and bondo.

Senn65 did a great conversion on this one. Send him a PM on this he will probably give you some tips. I tried to search and find the post but no luck.

Jeff, I am not sure which is best so I defer to one of our talented diecast modders. Jordan
