I'm planning on trying to make a 92 Penske out of the 93 Tamiya Lola to do Mears last car. From the pictures I can find it looks like the top of the engine cover and front, top and side of the side pods are the big differences. Any other big ones I'm missing?

The length of the nose would be another one, since for '93 the protection for the drivers feet was improved by making the car nose longer. Michael at Indycals is the 1993 Tamiya Lola expert good luck to you

Oh, I love the PC21. The only time I got to see my hero Rick Mears drive in person, he was in this car. Even though it was a bad result (not his fault), I was still thrilled to get to root him on. Of course, not knowing it was his last laps in anger at the Brickyard. Always wanted to see this car in scale, if you search the forum for PC21, you will find it discussed in multiple topics. Michael Peters put together this website for his friend: www.johncummiskeyracing.com/?page_id=71John Cummiskey is an ex-Penske mechanic with a Road to Indy team (F2000?). Since you are doing this in 1/20, are you using the Studio 27 decals or something else? Jordan

I'm actually using the 93 Fittapaldi decals. They were both #4 and it looks like all the other decals are on the sheet too. I was originally going to use the Studio 27 ones but they're pretty hard to find and crazy expensive.

Does anyone have any good pics of this car? They seem hard to come by online.

Thanks Jordan! Those are some good shots. I haven't been able to get to that John Cummisky site, it just gives me an error.

Did you every get this one! I've thought about doing this one myself, or maybe a PC-22.

With all due respect, I've seen a lot of people talk about doing a 92 Penske out of the Tamiya Lola kit (usually the Senna car), but I've never seen one actually 'done'.

I'm a bit late to this party, but I am in the process of making a 1993 Mark Smith Arciero Craftsman Racing model. Arciero fielded an updated 1992 Penske PC21, so it had the 93 extended nose but still had the year-old Chevy engine in it. I am using Paul Tracy's 93 as my donor car for the 1/18, and simultaneously using Ayrton Senna's 92 Penske test car from Minichamps for a 1/43 version. If anyone's interested, I can share pics of the conversion!
