This is my latest version of the FastBodies "PC-9b Indy Car". This is a resin body sitting on a AFX Mega-G 1.7" slot car chassis. I decided to decorate with a lesser known Penske driver who was lighting fast at the Brickyard; Bill Alsup. All I need to do is get a driver figure painted up, and it is ready to race. Decals from Indycals. Glamour pics with better backdrop will follow when all is done. .

Awesome! You don't see the ABDICK pacemaker built very much!

Still fascinated by how you get all the slot-car stuff inside a body that looks so well proportioned! --Frank

Very nice. I always enjoy the diverse tastes of the builders here, this is another driver that I would have never expected to see a build done to commemorate their time in IndyCars but alas here it is and very well done!

Thanks bunches guys!!!! I feel I captured the look of this car pretty well, given I have to make it sit on a 1:64th scale slot car chassis. If I were to making static models, these would be slammed down and low to the ground. Although, they're pretty close now. I like the little known, or lesser successful racers. Plus, it was a natural to do since Michael offered this livery. Next on the card, is to try making the PC-10. Hopefully I can get some spunky decal maker to knock a few sets out for me. I can think of quite a few liveries for the PC-10. - Gould - Norton (with yellow and red accent stripes) - Pennzoil - VDS Racing (John Paul) - Machinists (Garza and Roger Mears) - Arciero Racing (Pete Halsmer) What other PC-10 liveries am I missing? ? .

Is this the car that I was waiting for you to update? Yep Terry, this is the one I was working on. If you refer back to the Mears Gould Charge thread, you'll notice I made the windscreen taller and a better profile. This is molded into the body and the separation line is smooth and obvious. I also have the mirrors molded into the windscreen so you don't have to fiddle with those small parts. The only compromise, is I have to lop off the driver hands to fit into the opening. All I did after putting the driver in, was dab some orange paint inside the forward cockpit to make it look like the gloves are there. (see the overhead photo)The turbo is a separately casted piece, and requires delicate sanding. .
