This last June, the Museum had a Rod and Boat show. My good friend Darryl Dryer(who also work as a safety diver at the Seafair races and Limited Class races (on the Western Wa racing circuit) for at least 10yrs, joined me to go to the show. The Museum is about 20 miles from my house and we made it there fairly early. There were at least 30-40 cool cars(which I didn't shoot pics of) and ALL the hydros in the Museum...plus a few on trailers outside. There was a 5-6 piece band playing oldies Rock n Roll...BBQ dogs and burgers right outside the front door. The '73 PaynPak was in the back work area getting ready for next years Seafair race. Slo-mo V was sitting there in all her glory and man....it was really cool to be able to touch the boat I've watched on TV in my younger years. Seeing the Miss Budweiser, The Atlas Van lines, SLO-MO V, Miss Wahoo, Miss Seattle was in the back really looking rough. That's another project the the members are going to try to get in the water. Well....I think I should post some pics and stop this silly typing...LOL... I'd like to also mention...taking GOOD FULL ON pics was almost impossible....all these boat were crammed into a small area. But..just being able to get up close and shoot pics was cool... Miss Bud and Atlas(Chip Hanauers boats) A limited class boat... ATLAS "BLUE BLASTER" THE '73 PAYnPAK PROJECT.... THE BUD ENGINE..... I've got a bunch more...I'll try and post some later..

Great Stuff! Thank you so much for sharing! For how big the boats are it would be very hard to find a place big enough to fit all of them. I can't wait for the 1973 Pay N' Pak do get done - that hull is very sentimental for a lot of fans around here.

Thanks for posting these. It looks like a really cool museum. I was flipping channels the other night and caught the movie "Madison". It was great to see those restored boats running together.

I also liked it very much.... Hey Calvin...( or any one on the Forum for that matter) I took a lot of trailer reference pics as I want to build one or two for my boats. I built the 1/24 Bud and was going to put it on a trailer but...I gave it to my son instead. I did build a case for it though. Sooo...if you want Ref. pics of the trailers...let me know and I will post them...If that's ok with everyone..

Slo-mo-shun, a boat that even an ol' Ferraristi remembers! The diversity of this group is what makes it so entertaining!!

OK...Good....I need to load them into my Fotki...I'm trying to fix a computer thing that I did and don't know how I did it... I did a search on the 69-70 Pay-n-Pak ( "LIL Buzzard") and found some pics of that boat at the Detroit race in 70. This is the boat that was displayed at the front of the PaynPak store that I worked at on Charleston Harbor Dr. Bremerton Wa ( right across the street from USS MISSOURI) back in 69&70. They were doing a promo thing for the store back then. It was really cool talking with Jim Lucero(crew chief at that time)and just getting up close with the race team. The Company(PaynPak) had a pretty good sized Yacht at that time and invited ALL their employees to go to the race on the LOG BOOM. It was kinda cool....but I'm a Race guy...I wanted to see the Race and not get Drunk and Party.(they've really cracked down on that these days...as they should) The Log boom is ok if a person wants to visit and go swimming. As far as watching the Race...NOT GOOD....the only thing you can see...is the boats going by directly in front of you. Soooo...I watch the whole thing on T.V. and I can see the whole Race course and the Blue Angle show to boot....LOL.
OK enough of that....I'll post some Trailer ref. pics...

OK...got the computer thing figure'd out and I'll post a few trailer pics... This first set is from the Miss Whoo...Easy to shoot because she was outside... This shot is from the boat that's sitting in the back work area...You can see the different setup on this trailer.. The tongue of the Bud Trailer...It's a little hefty...I don't think that would hook up to my Pickup... A good place to keep the wing..eh? Out of the way...that's for sure...

As far as watching the Race...NOT GOOD..... I'm old enough to have been in a few Pay N' Pak stores! If Duane lived up here back in the day as a cabinet maker he would have been buying all of his knobs, handles, hinges from there! I was always under the impression the Log boom was the best spot in Seattle? I always thought the race course was so far out there from the shore and made it hard to even see those big boats? I know in the Tri-Cities the course is just right there in front of you....which makes it cool!
