Hey Guys, I noticed a few pics on the net of some Indycars before they were painted. They were in bare Carbon Fiber. The Cars looked really GREAT !!! I had seen while working at a hobby shop that some guys painted there R/C Bodies to look like Carbon Fiber. I believe the used Black and Charcoal paint. They sprayed the Charcoal through smy kind of mesh or webbing and then backed in the Black paint. Or the other way around. It was done this way because the R/C Bodies were Clear and you painted the inside. My Real question to you all is, does anyone know how to give a Die-cast Indycar a Carbon Fiber Paint Job The cars would look Pretty Good with a Carbon Fiber Paint Job with nothing, or little decals, on it. Please let me know, Thank you, Robby

James Tremblant has done C/F by shooting a pewter color through stocking material over black. IIRC it was stretched to open the gaps between the threads.
There is also 1/20 scale carbon fiber decals that can be done to cover the body. Scale Motorsports made their first c/f pattern with the help of PacWest Racing back in the late 90's.

All the CF cars I've seen built as models used decals.

Speaking of carbon decals...do those 1/20 scale look OK on 1/18 diecast?
