The crazy part about this was that I never requested them. They would just show up in my mailbox. I met Earl when I worked for a team Memo drove for. He stayed in Indy with me one May. The CDs would usually have something to do with me. I attended all the races he sent me copies. Without warning, package shows up. I appreciated him thinking of me.

Jordan, Stu, Jerry, and Calvin, What should we do about this. Who would be the best caretaker?

IMO I think these should be uploaded on a web hosting site so everyone could benefit from them, of course with the proper Earl Ma watermark in the bottom corner of each pic.....

I don't have the time or desire to upload them. Let me know who does and I will ship them.

I'd be willing to take care of it - I'm constantly uploading pics almost everyday.....I just need a suggestion of how everyone thinks these should be displayed and I'll do it.
I'll let everyone weigh in on who should get them.....

Trevor, I do not mind taking care of Earl's stuff. I talked to him on a few different modeling forums over the years. We never talked enough to become fast friends but he was a great guy.
I ran a tribute sim-racing scheme to honor him right after he passed. It had a Unical ball (it takes a lot for me to not run She'll LOL) and Rocket from the Unions. Retired the paint job with a perfect record after sweeping the weekend, including a last turn of last lap pass for the lead in the first race. I was so happy coming to the checkers that first race that my wife came in to find out why I was banging on my desk like a mad man!! I used to have a copy of the image of that car online but the forum that hosted the image is long gone. When I recover the data off that old HD (currently dead), I will have to share is pic of that scheme. My regular scheme was a close copy of the 1970 LeMans winning 917K so my Earl scheme was the same motif with black paint and his sponsors.
There is still an Earl Ma tribute group on Facebook. It is not very active but I'd still like to share some of this stuff there. I never got any of his Alps decals but I have a scan of at least the '03 Corona Reynard in my PM's here plus a few small preview images of three Reynard decals he did when Memo subbed in those cars. Would be cool to come up with a way to show off his great decal artwork, too!

It would be great if we had a reference photo sharing component to this site. Between the members here, we would have an impressive library. I don't know what would be involved in doing this, and if there was cost involved, we could all kick in a few bucks to cover that. If Calvin was willing to do the heaving lifting, I'm sure it would be well organized.

Jordan, and Calvin I think it would be great if either one of you took this on, and made these available to everyone. Any other opinions?

It seems like Jordan knows way more about him than I do.

I can host them as well, if we need a mirror.

Thanks, MP. Let me catalog everything and get a plan together. Is there good photo hosting software if we don't use a regular photo service (Imgur, Flikr, etc)?

The CDs would usually have something to do with me. I attended all the races he sent me copies. Without warning, package shows up. I appreciated him thinking of me. That's the way Earl was. Once you met him, you were friends for life. And you worked for Memo's team, his favorite driver, so you had 2 plus marks next to your name. I met him online on the old rec.auto.sport news group. I met him in person for the first time, when he came to Houston for the first CART race through the streets. After that, he would always send me Long Beach or Houston race photos. He stayed with me the last Houston race he did (second Champ Car race around the stadiums). Of course, Earl was also a prolific modeler. Made his own decals so he could model any car he wanted. I had him make some Danica Patrick uniform decals for me in 1/8th scale for use on an anime figure model I had. The figure was maybe shaped more like Milka Duno than Danica, but... Anyway, you can see my model with Earls decals here: www.vintagerpm.com/belldanica/
