Gary called, and asked me to post this. Research by Bob Cicconi showed that the windscreen on this car is mounted inside the framework, not outside as shown in the instructions. If you are building this kit, Gary says it is actually easier to mount this way. So.....If you are building, thank Bob for the correct information, if you have already finished, now you know, and you can blame Bob.  |

I came across a web page that has the 1956 Indy 500 starters. It has photos of all the Kuzma roadsters from that year including the ones Sweikert, Parsons, and Thompson drove, in addition to Jimmy Bryan's.

Ok so now I see another potential problem building Bryan' s '56 Kuzma. It appears that the grille pattern on the side tank does not match the pattern of the previously posted build up. I just received 4 of Gary's kits yesterday and it will not stop me from building it but I am just wandering if other's see the same thing.

That photo shows different grill work over the oil tank. The qualifying, and race day photos I have, show the mesh style grill. During the month, many cars were changed in one way or another. You could replicate that grill with some fine wire, if you want to.

You can also look at the Bob Clidinst and it shows the different oil tank grills for all the 1956 Kuzma's
Bryan ran the same BAR GRILL in the race, his was the only Kuzma with this grill which may be because of Clint Brawner,
In 1957 he narrowed the car to save weight he was always trying to stay ahead for everybody else.

More research shows that, as usual, Walt is correct. A little more work is required on the Dean's car. My drawing shows one vertical bar on that grill, but that might just be s flaw in the copy.
