I tend to agree with Patrick. Those scarabs were so bad that they'd still be at the back of the pack in a vintage race. And they look like indy car wanabee's, all flash no go. (not that some indy cars are very fast, but these ain't they)

I think whoever wrote that description was more than a bit full of it. Those cars were dogs, pretty, but still dogs.

Yes, they were crap, but pretty crap. They are a significant piece of American racing history. I've been around full size racecars a lot. I've driven them. You'd be surprised just how many of them were indeed crap. I'd start to scratch that front engine one in a minute if I could get my hands on some drawings.
