acrylic paint

I have always used either hobby enamel or lacquer to paint my models ( I use an airbrush ), but because I paint in my basement, I have been wanting to try water based paints. Even with a paint booth vented outside I still sometimes stink up the house. I have tried the Testors acrylics and don't like them. Do any of you guys use acrylics and if so could you share your thoughts and methods.
