Last Friday I took my yearly goof off day and drove from Ohio to the Speedway. My sole purpose for going was to see the Lotus 38 & Lotus 56 and to just have fun. While I was there I had lunch with Bill Jorgensen and he showed me the projects he has been working on. I won't let the cat out of the bag on all of them but the one I can't keep my mouth shut on is Bills 82 Wildcat. Bill started work on this car years ago and it has been passed on to several others over the years but no one has ever finished it. Well, it found it's way back into Bill's hands again and Bill has started working on it again. I kid you not and I held that little gem in my hot little hands and probably drooled on it too! ;D Bill's motivation to finish it was a little wavering however. I really tried to pump him up about it and told him that I know you guys would want one for sure. After lunch, Bill dropped me back off at the museum to get my car and he headed straight for the museum entrance. I asked him what he was going to do and he said he was going to take another look at the Wildcat! I hope Bill doesn't mind me telling you guys this but I thought if everyone showed their support, it might give him more incentive to finish it. This car would be an amazing addition to anyones collection. So, my question to you guys is... "who want's a Wildcat? Stu

I would buy one for sure if an 82 Wildcat is offered by Bill. I was hoping to see the Wilcat by now and maybe an 83 or 84 March in the near future.

I would buy one, 'cause that's just what I need, just one more model.

I'll take 2. One for Gordie and one with a caved in left side, #40, courtesy of "Coogan".

For my first post on this site I'll add my vote for Bill to finish the 1982 Wildcat kit. I'll take two. One of them for Mario's 1982 car and the other I'll convert to Mario Andretti's 1981 Wildcat, the real winner of the 1981 Indianapolis 500. Paul Erlendson

Vern Shuppan is the real 1981 winner. If the guy in third had been named Al Unser, Foyt or Rutherford, both would have been penalized a lap, leaving the third place car the winner. Another example of USAC's decades of incompetence.

Bobby was the real winner because ABC TV manufactured the pit out incident. Yes, it happened, but USAC didn't do anything about it until ABC brought it to their attention.
That said, I'll take two Wildcats, please. One for Gordy, and one for Mario - my favorite team of all time.
