This is now a work in progress. A 1/32nd scale slot car model of probably Mr. Jim Clark's most famous car. The Lotus 25 that he won the 1963 F-1 Championship in. The famous # R-4. (Patrick will know). The body is a resin creation from Pre-Wing, mastered by Mr Martin Field. As with a lot of slip moulded resin bodies a lot of work had to be done. The slot car chassis is one of my Beardog Racing Mk3 units, yet to come will be a beautiful 1/32nd (also available in 1/24th scale) Jim Clark, modeled by Marc at Immense Miniatures. I've done the paint, decals and clear coat, exhausts, windscreen and inlets. Now it needs some suspension detailing, one of Marc's Jim Clark's without helmet peak and a dummy transmission....Oh and transistor box....and dashboard, shocks, spark plug wires etc etc.

Very Nice. Brings back memories from my youth. I loved to watch him at the speedway when he was out of the car.

Dang it Beardog! Your 1/32 cars are outstanding!! I wish I had the windscreen, but in 1/24 for my SE Finecast model. I hate their cut and fold offering...just plain crapy! So, I still have a 3/4 finished Mk25! Rats!!

You've got to like a company that calls themselves "Pre-Wing"! A slot car! I'm glad you told me it was a slot car! Looks great! --Frank

Corrected the windscreen, and added the ignition box, it looks like a 25 now, but where did Jim go?

Beardog, You are so much like me in our tastes! I love the #4 with an upper part of the white missing! That's the kind of stuff I like in doing a model of an exact car/race. Patrick

Patrick Thank you Patrick All by builds are based on an actual car that raced, research is half the fun. The little quirks make all the difference. What are you working on at the mo? Chris

Chris, Yup, you're like me in both respects. I DO love the research and the oddities more than a winner. Can't work on too much as I'm still settling in my new digs. I do think I'll be trying the Heller BT33 and M7A as out of the box pieces. But I know how that's going to go..."Well I can do this and add that easily enough!" LOL!!!
