The front of the Honda side pods are tricky! I just need to clean it up and I bet it'll be closer.

I'm still not happy with the front of the side pods....its still not ready. I was hoping to get this in rubber tonight, but that won't happen unless I want to have something not right..... I want to get in rubber this week. I have no idea how well this will do...I've already lost money on this, totally screwing up the airbox and redoing it. If I screw up again on everything here I will not make anymore...too much money and too much agony making the mold. But if it does sell and people are totally happy with of course I'll make more. Its hard for me to tell how this going to go.... with this much resin it will really heat up and suck the life out of the rubber mold very fast.

Would thinner walls help the mold life, Calvin? Kind of like the 1/12 956 CNC build that is on various forums right now.

I'll prolly build that one 1/25 with my new resin kit.....*I sense decals will prolly surface?* Not too many JW decals out there to choose from?

Jordan No, its a mistake making thin walls on a rubber resin mold - IMO it wouldn't help but make the chances of bodies coming out warped or bent.....Lance and I have talked this over before - make the molds big and strong.

Calvin -- if this sells well, you still have the original parts, right? Those can be used to make new molds, or no?

Oh yeah, the master is always around to stay..... if it sells well then it will be no problem - I won't be making that much off of this deal at all - it's more a labor of love than anything.

Here are some pictures (from the IMS site) that might help refine the sidepods: Thanks for the searching for all these pics for easy viewing.......thats the good part, the bad part is its showing me yet more areas I need to fix! That's why I hate setting time tables for things that need to be done as it never comes out on time, never.....if it does come out on schedule then its prolly built wrong! (been there done that) Sorry to be complaining a lot today.....but I'm kinda grumpy today.

It looks great already Calvin, I picked those photos with a focus on the front half of the sidepods. At that, I can't pinpoint a problem with what you have now, and I've got a critical eye.

I have the decals for the Wilson Rolling Stones car. Who would we say is the best builder around here? We should all come together and contribute supplies, donor cars, decals, etc. to have 3 or 4 built to auction with the proceeds going to Julia and the girls.
I'm in touch with Stefan about another fundraising project, so I have a direct way to make sure the money (or the cars) get to them and they can do with them as they see fit.
