While struggling to build the metal bodied 156, I decided to see if Revivals plastic bodied kits are any better. I had this in the stash and pulled it down to give it a try. The kit seems to be the same as the metal ones, but most of the parts are molded in plastic. There are still some metal and brass parts, but you don't get all the bells and whistles. One of the big let downs is that those beautiful wire wheels are now in plastic. The instructions seem to be a mishmash. Some assemblies are not covered at all, while others are kinda glossed over. Not at all like the metal kits. In fact, the instructions are almost useless. Anyway, I don't have any photos of the start of the build, but I thought I'd show you the finished chassis. The detail of the chassis is quite impressive, even though it's simplified in the plastic kit. I also have the body in paint. I used the same Krylon "Ultra" paint I used on the 156.

Man, that thing looks beefy. Nice paint work so far, cool to see it in this stage of the build.

Looks great. Nice paint. I like it. Those tires have the wildest tread I've ever seen on a race car. After completion, what is your opinion of the plastic versus metal Revival kits.

After completion, what is your opinion of the plastic versus metal Revival kits. kip I have found that while the Revival kits are nicely detailed, overall fit is terrible. That includes metal or plastic kits. The metal kits are not worth the money and, as you will probably need to repaint anyway, I would buy the plastic versions if I could find one. As nice as the metal kits are, I wouldn't pay more then $100 for one. (probably a lot less)
