I had ordered a 64 Foyt Watson conversion from Lance a while back. At least that is what I thought I ordered. No mind. In any case I have a 63 Parnelli conversion. I already have that kit done in my collection (although it is 25 years old). So I cut off the side covers and added the intake slot on the nose. Wala! a 64 nose. (Or at least close enough) I have scrapped all the parts and sanded, removed the chrome and repainted all of the engine, suspension and chassis parts. I am waiting on an order for the body paint. Anyway, this old AMT kit basicly puts the body on last, so I have started assy. Here is the mostly completed engine. I used a combination of Metalizer, acrylics, and Rustolium Chrome.

Thanks for sharing this. I know this kit has some shortcomings but I have about a dozen of them with the eventual goal of building all of the Watson roadsters. You are off to a good start. The colors you chose sure show up the contrast. Looking forward to more. Jim

You should have called Lance if there was a mix up on the order. It's not to late to get the right parts IMO

If Lance can't help you, I have an extra Foyt Watson conversion kit.

Engine is complete and installed, as is the rear suspension. My paint has shipped, so I should have that soon. Pictured is the chassis and the modified body that is ready for paint.

You've got this kit looking great. Can't wait to see it with the paint on.

The nose modifications look great (as does the rest of your work on this). I know it has its faults, but I love this kit. It was probably the first mass produced, decent kit of an Indy roadster.
