Looks like they are ready to go - clean car and mud still on the tires! Great work on both - they really pop out in the sun.

The cars are clean because they were just unloaded. The tires have just a trace of mud from being pushed around the pits that were wet from an afternoon shower.

For all the faults of the IRL (and I don't want to rehash that era), I am glad that some great shoes like Jack Hewitt and Steve Kinser got to add the Indy 500 to their resume. Left to the powers at hand, they would have had a chance. It is sad to me than no one in CART really got it and the IRL morphed into IndyCar so we are back when we started. I think it is wonderful that Roger Penske finally got to the Chili Bowl after all this time.

and no retort to the "CART don't hire Sprint Car Drivers" as this is a one way argument.
