A long time ago I rec'd some decal snippets from Bill Jorgensen, which included enough to do Vukie's '55 Hopkins Special, a car I've always wanted to do. Here are a couple of pics of my WIP, not very far along but these might help Bill resolve a couple questions he had on his - Brian  I used the original exhaust but filed down the stub to accept aluminum tubing, attached to the top part of the left engine half.  Here is the new opening for the exhaust, higher cockpit side and filled body vent that doesn't seem to appear on the Hopkins car. Now that Bill has ID'ed a possible paint match, I'll get going again on this one! |

Thanks, Brian. I am going to make a few changes to the body I have ready for paint! LOL!!
I had not noticed the right side of the cockpit being built up so far, for some reason..

Bill, my cockpit side *might* need a little adjusting still. I have to re-visit that site and look at pics again!

Can anyone tell me what scale the old Monogram Kurtis is? It can't be 1/25th..........
I would also like to do the '54 or '53 car from the same kit. Bill's last ride and a winner.

After comparing the Monogram kit to the 1/25th scale drawings of the Hopkins from Bob C. (thanks Russ!), it looks like the Monogram kit could very easily be 1/24th scale. it is just a *touch* bigger than the drawings, but very close! Those Kurtis 500s were bigger than I thought! LOL!!

Great looking project, can't wait to see the finished model. Thanks for sending in the photos also. You mentioned some of the decals came from Bill Jorgensen. I have a brochure from Indycals that lists these decals, but they're not listed on the website. HEY MIKE, are these available? You've got a sale here if they are.
