Hi there, my name is Manu and I'm an Italian-Canadian modeller living in Italy!I've been an AC and armour modeller for the best part of the last 4 decades (yes,I'm THAT old!) but only recently I've been bitten by the F1 cars bug.I've got a few MFHs,Fujimis and Ebbros in my stash but to be perfectly honest I won't know where to start from when it'll come to finally build the first car;I'm sure I'll learn from you and from your help though! Have a GREAT Sunday everybody Manu

Ciao, Manu! Great to have you on board! It must be great living where the F1 models are to be found in the local store! You'll soon meet Patrick, and his first question will be "what part of Italy are you living in?" (That is my first question, but this is a nod to our resident Italian car lover). --Frank

Hi Frank, thank you so very much for your welcome!I live on the Italian Riviera Ligure, less that 45 minutes from Montecarlo...where next Historic Grand Prix will be held next May 24th!Yes..I know....but I've got a VERY soft spot for those "old glories" and I'm sorta addicted to the smell of burnt castor oil in the morning;smells like........HAPPINESS! ;-) Best Manu

Welcome aboard. Lots of F1 fans here, and loads of us that miss the "good old days", although some of them were not so good. Craig

Many thanks Craig,Chapparal and John! Craig...too many young blokes lost their lives in terrifying crashes, but in my opinion those gas-filled tin cans are charming like no other car could be!Further, they were "driver's" cars, now life is much easier and, thankfully,MUCH SAFER! A few days ago I was watching a documentary on the late Lorenzo Bandini on the Italian TV and at a certain point during her interview his widow told the funny story of when Lorenzo made a commercial for a well-known shaving foam.He was a soft-speaking,shy man,and when he had finally finished shooting the commercial he left the stage with his "reward"...a box with twelve spray cans! Chapparal and John...I've noticed that! ;-) Cheers Manu

Welcome Canuk63, seems that with Offset there are at least 3 from the northern climes!
Look forward to seeing any of your work you choose to post.
Cheers

Thank you Offset and Stephen...welcomes are one of the best parts when joining a forum! Yep...looks like Canadians are all over the place,eh? I'm currently gathering detailing sets for my first build,i.e. a Fujimi 126C2 driven by a "certain" Canadian guy!So far I've found a MFH transkit (minus its PE frets...bummer!) and bought a Ka Models/Perfect parts white metal, resin and PE detailing set which is a waste of money;the white metal parts,INCLUDING THE RIMS are mostly "reworked" Fujimi parts with loads of flash and signs of badly misaligned molds, the resin pieces are nothing to write home about and the PE frets are the only parts can be salvaged somehgow!I think I'll be much better off making resin copies of the needed parts off a MFH 126CK and scratchbuilding the rest using the 1/12 MFH 126C2 as a template! Cheers Manu

Ciao Manu!
I'm an Italian sea man too, as I live in Palermo, Sicily... welcome, and if you need some tip, don't hesitate to write me an MP in italian, although I think that an expert modeler like you with a good images' source shouldn't have problems to perform a great build!
