I’m preparing a Minichamps 1/18th scale Penske PC23 for a complete rebuild and a little added detail. One of the things that I would like to redo is all the chrome suspension pieces and the wheels. I’ve tried to strip the chrome with my favorite stripper, Wesley’s Bleechwhite white wall tire cleaner. Does a great job on kit chrome, but won’t touch the stuff used on this diecast. I’ve never used brake fluid or oven cleaner. Either one of them do it? Something else?

Paul, you can try Easy Off Oven cleaner but it may not work either. I do not believe the chrome on the Minichamps, Greenlight cars, etc... is your typical chrome from say your AMT kit. I say try both. If something happens to your pieces, I have a parts car and can help you with replacements.
