Here's my latest, Scott Dixon's Indy ride. The bright silver commemorating Target's 25 years with the team was a challenge - I knew silver paint wouldn't capture it, so I ended up using Model Master buffing aluminium. Three coats, followed by careful buffing with an old tee shirt. Then a coat of clear lacquer to seal it in before applying decals. The fuel filler and exausts were done using my tubing technique, cutting out various sized circles, then sacking them to achieve the desired effect. I also used this technique to make the bull's eyes on the shark fins, as those supplied on the decal sheet were oddly oval shaped, rather than round. It took a few tries to get the inner egde of the outer ring exactly centered in the outer edge, but eventually I got it. Once again, I sanded the tires, and applied a flat black wash to the wheels. I've taken to using two part epoxy to attach the rear bumpers, as it gives me more time to get them lined up exactly, (well, almost exactly) right. Hope you enjoy the pics.

It's just hard to believe how small that thing is, and all that detail in 1/64! What did you start your conversion with? --Frabnk

It started out as a Target car - Dario's Indy 500 winner by Greenlight. All my conversions start with that car, because I got a great deal on eBay for three boxes of them. I see bull's eyes in my sleep!

Very nice work on this one. Photographs like these always enlarge the car so any small defect is magnified and it is always worse for the builder who sees issues that no other mortal will ever notice.
