The next question will be: If the rear wing on the production version matches the prototype, what's the correct angle to cut and remount the rear wing

A very nice looking car.
I would prefer the 1/25th kit.
Anybody doing a rerun?

Just goes to show you that the $105 we spend for the resin kits is a good deal. Obviously model building talent is required but that instant gratification didn't work out to well for Me. Wing is too high, I agree. There gonna pop a zillion of these things out, modify them and make '83, '84, 86 etc. Wonder how much the little Chinese kids painting and assembling these things make?

I still have a Colin Fraser version of this car too - but honestly I love the Spark and Replicarz stuff. for $89, they're a bargain if you've been a 1/43 guy forever...

For what it's worth, to add my praise to the new Replicarz and Spark 1/43 Indy collection, here are some pics of a $89 car versus a $200 car. Kind of a long read below but what is your feedback? Am I putting too much thought into this? lol I have very conflicted and mixed emotions. Guys like Colin Fraser and a vendors like Ghost Models, etc kept my 1/43 collection going through the 90's and 00's. The craftsmanship and passion Colin has can't be matched by a car built in a factory. I feel loyalty and appreciation for the guys at Formula Model (Colin), Tameo, Ampersand, etc. Their love of the 1/43 scale, craftsmanship and passion for our sport got me building and collecting so I feel like I am betraying them in some way by buying a pre-built scale model. Also hurting the value of my collection and others by saying, "yeah, this $90 car is really almost as good as the $300 car". Obviously the Colin Fraser-built version is a little more detailed - the main difference to me is the thin windscreen versus the thick plastic one from Replicarz. But outside of that, I am actually displaying the Replicarz version now. The decals are just cleaner, whiter, the paint is great and quite frankly it is just more "durable" long-term than a hand-built model. If it falls off my desk or we have an earthquake - I know the Replicarz version will be fine whereas the hand-built model will need some TLC. PLUS, Michael/IndyCals is involved and he is as passionate and supportive of Indy as anyone ever has been. I am so pumped about all the great things Replicarz and Spark are doing and to the sadness of my budget, I'll buy every single car they produce. lol This has been a great time for us 1/43 fanatics in America (Indy and NASCAR) who have had a very tough finding cars in our preferred scale for less than $150-200.

We all need help. How are we suppose to help someone when we need help also. Just kidding. You only need help if you start to second mortgage your house for your collection. I like the comparison of the two. Replicarz is doing a great job with these cars. I like your display of all the cars, nice looking collection. To me both cars look great but the Replicarz looks just a little sharper.

Nice collection. I know that the 1/43rd scale is huge outside of the US. There are (or used to be) a lot of subjects available. I used to deal with "Photoriffic" which IIRC was out of the Washington State area. I started with 1/25 around 1968 or so. As an adult with income, I bought and built a few of the SMTS kits over the years. The subject matter was unattainable for subjects such as the Lotus type 38 and so on. Met some of the resin casters when I got back into the hobby. This was the Monogram 1/24 which was soon followed by the AMT/Ertl 1/25 March's and Lola's. In a quest for better decals I started going to model car shows. Fred Caddy and then Jorgensen kits and I was off and running.
I consider myself lucky to be able to build such a wide variety of obscure and different Indy Car kits. It is really a great time with Kevin, Lance, Rick and Calvin producing subjects which were unimaginable just a decade or so ago.
Build and collect what you have a passion for! I went with the diecast when they were introduced, Exoto, Carousel One, GMP. I collected the first series of these subjects, and they just continued to have more and more. I have real cars and at the time was restoring a 1:1 Plymouth. I purchased some aluminum cylinder heads, and while writing the check for the credit card it came to my mind that I had enough diecast in a curio to pay for the heads. I made a decision to only build for that point onward. I have done a few die-cast's for friends, but I stopped at the '75 Eagle of Bobby Unser with the carousel.
My big problem now is room! Displaying them is getting out of hand. I have about 10 1/24th sports cars and around 70 1/25 Indy cars. I enjoy building the 1/12th Tamiya F1 kits and they are real relaxing for me to build but difficult to display. I really like the 1/12 scale.
Again, nice collection, and I prefer the hand built one!
