I've been researching other open wheeled formulae in the world and discovered this interesting class of cars raced in Argentina using inline 6 engines. Fords, Dodges, but mostly Chevys... lots of variety and approaches to this unique formula. SO...I had a monocoque from an IMC Lotus with no lower nose and no suspension...yes, I am crazy! the chassis had to be lengthened about 1/4" to accommodate the I6 engine which came from the deep spares box that I seem to be famous for... the engine was given my usual solder bent exhaust and the carb extentions were from a Ferrari exhaust cut up to work... the Webers were from the AMT Indy Lotus (which are my favorite Ferrari V12 Webers)simply painted silver... I also added someone's 6 wire distributor... I decided on an orange car with yellow number circles, but the sponsor decals were a difficult choice...I rummaged through my decal collection and came up with some look alike one to be similar to the prototypes... it has the "feel" of the crazy sponsor decals of the real cars I think...next will be attaching the bogus suspension and tyres! Crazy, no? Patrick

What a fun project. To call it unique would be an understatement lol Very enjoyable seeing this one come to like.

Wow, the six banger looks great. I have never heard of this formula, and I have a lot of books! It appears that the second photo is an ex Indycar.
Very cool

You are actually starting with a kit, Patrick, I think that's cheating, for you.

You are actually starting with a kit, Patrick, I think that's cheating, for you. That's so funny! Thanks guys all! All this while waiting for putty to dry on the Dino. Retirement has a different meaning in this case. Patrick

Probably the availability of old Chevy Blocks in that part of the world, lots of old Chevy trucks.. I like Blue #9 with the 4 exhaust pipes to the right up and over and 2 to the left.. thats a very interesting layout for a header, normally 3 and 3 would be the norm... stangeness......Chris

How interesting! And you have done a very nice realization of this concept.

I liked the idea of a scoop over the Webers...so I took two Lotus 38 scoops and sliced them and glued them together to fit... Somehow I lost a front upright last night so I'll have to use something else. Patrick

Gary, Thanks. It is such a quirky formula. I've watched some vids on YouTube and they're petty quick, too. This kind of bashing is fun. Phantom cars allow you to relax during the building as you have the freedom to pick and choose parts of the "prototypes" that you want. You still do the work cleanly and you end up with a unique car. Fun.

Well, it's getting close! A test fit with the wheels on shows off the uniqueness of this formula... I'm seeking an easy way to solve the windscreen problem...anyone have a windscreen from the old IMC Lotus (Mk29) Indy car model? Patrick

This is a really cool project. Who knew about these cars? They look like a lot of fun. Did you ever find a windshield? If not, please let me know and I will look more carefully through my spares. Jim
