Looks like I'm finished with modeling. This is the ugliest car now, one notch uglier than F1.

If they do I doubt it will be this year. Looks like a lot of scratch building to make accurate. Hopefully the Speedway version will be less busy but it appears that several changes to the side pods may have to be done regardless.

Raindrops are one shape for a reason. Race cars are raindrops with just a different function and operating parameters. In both cases physics dictates what they look like. Physics doesn't care about aesthetics, and neither do race car designers.

All additional aero dodads should be banned. Reminds me of some of the awful crap tried by F1 teams for the Monaco Grand Prix - tower wings anyone? They should be forced to achieve the desired results only through modification of the shapes of the basic body panels. Raindrops are beautiful - the picture above is not.

You're right Michael, wind tunnel doesn't give a hoot what the finished chassis looks like.

I like the technical terms! Can't wait to start talking about "main flicks", and the wisdom of wider "top flicks"! "We've got room on the "upper flick" for your associate sponsorship". Imagine how exited the people that make the wraps must be! --Frank

They can reinvent the Inycar as much as they want but any of these cars were plenty fast & dang good looking.

Funny that you post a 94 Lola. I loved the 93 - one of the best looking of all time in both RC and Speedway trim... but the 94 changed just enough that I didn't care as much for it.

My point was 90's LOLA. I just picked one at random but yeah I liked the 93 as well. I thought the 95 was better looking than either.

Maybe I'm weird (Be nice Calvin) but I like the new car! You're fine.....its typical when something new comes out.......just like the when the DW12 out in 2012 a lot of people freaked out and said they couldn't handle looking at it....then as times goes on it's accepted by most now.

I like the DW12.... I don't care for this aero package. Looks pretty half-assed. I'm all for doing things whole-assed.

I think these will grow on people just like the DW12 did. I think they look great once all dressed up.

One thing for sure, Target Ganassi will have room now for about twenty more sponsors. I think I see several kicks and flick and flaps or whatever they call them, with no logos.

Hard to think that anyone could make the current crop of F1 cars look good, but IMO both Chevy, and Honda have pulled it off. It will be interesting to see what the speedway cars look like. Going to be lots of yellow laps on the street races. "CLEAN UP IN TURN 1"

I am with Ralph. Doing a replica of one of these RC cars would be a nightmare. I doubt I will ever do one unless the person that wants one has very deep pockets. Just too much time will be involved to make it worth it. Here's hoping that the speedway car doesn't change that much. The Fuzzy RC car sure looks pretty though. Maybe the darker colors hide all the added aero better because the car does look nice.

The Fuzzy's car is beautiful. I think you're right Stu about the dark making it look good.

That Fuzzy's car is beautiful. In fact, both Carpenter & Fisher cars are beautiful.
I think I like the Honda version better. The Chevy has that odd bump in front of the rear tires. Then there is the issue of the "monkey seats" mounted to the front wings. Maybe they put them there just so the driver knew where the corners of the car are located. Seems like a lot of guys drive like they don't have a big wing sticking out front.

I already feel the mood change.....here pretty soon we'll hear people start saying...."well they're OK"....to "I'm starting to like them"
The same thing happen when the DW12 first came out in 2012....and don't be surprised if the first race isn't very competitive as any race with a new package usually happens that way.
