I recently finished a couple of fairly quick conversions. The first one is the Schaefer Machinists Union March of Josele Garza and the 2nd was the Gilmore/Foyt of none other than AJ Foyt. The Garza car is pretty much a strip and repaint but the Foyt was a little more in depth. I reworked the rear wing and did some scratch work for the BBR wheels. Replicarz makes only the rear BBR wheels so I bought two sets. One set for the rears of course and one rear set to modify for the front wheels. I totally cut up the second set just to get the wheel inserts. Then I took the original Mears front wheels and cut out its insert and meshed the two together. Hoping to get my hands on the C1 tail cone that was on AJ's car but if not, I will to attempt to scratch build (3rd attempt) one on my own. Stu

Thanks Michael and thanks for the awesome decals. I was worried about the Garza stripes but they are perfect!

Those BBS fronts look stock, very nice part bashing on those. It always amazes me to see builds of guys that I never thought I would see, like Josele Garza. I like the detail work on them, too, like the covered rad exits on AJ's car. Both are very nicely painted and decaled, do you get to keep these?

Fantastic stuff!
Yep that Foyt tail is very tricky.

Oh boy those look great! I don't have the courage to work on one of those cars. Taking them apart & reassembling is harder than the customizing. The customizing is a piece of cake.

Stu these 2 are outstanding. You nailed the red stripe on the Garza. I would have been a nervous wreck applying that. Love the figure.

Thanks Guys. Not a big fan of Garza but for some reason I just really liked the livery. He finished 10th in 1984 which is not to shabby. 1984 was not a great year for liveries IMO.

That's what I'm afraid of. I can't take a Reynard apart without breaking something lol. Taking one of those expensive Mears cars scares the crap out of me.

The first March I took apart took me 7 hours. That was overkill because I took way more apart than I had to. After doing five or six of these, I can have in apart in an hour and remove suspension assemblies as nearly one piece. I figure anything that goes together, comes apart. The more you do the more tricks you learn.
