I had purchased the Indycal conversion kit for the AMT Lotus 29 from 1963. Since I am in a hold waiting on the 4 coates of paint on the Malard to dissolve, I started on this kit. All chrome was stripped with EasyOff. Just following the directions I started clipping parts and cleaning them up. Lots of flast and mold marks. (Old kit) I did some basic sub assembles. I could not put it off any longer. Time to cut off the nose! i fit the new on and did a super glue fill and sand. Really much easier than I thought it would be. Thanks guys! anyway, I sanded the seems where the body panels meet and I have spraye Aluminum Plate Metalizer in the inside of the bosy. This will be the green/yellow Jim Clark car number 92. So far, so good! Nose and upper body. The seam is right behind the ft suspension cut out. Engine and chassis sub assemblies are done. You can see the correct tires and the windscreen that are also included in the conversion kit. Not shown are the included decals.

Hey, all! Opinions needed. TS9 British Racing Green or TS43 Racing Green? I assume tTS9, but like the look of TS43 better.

Since the Mallard is drying for 2 days, time to work on the Lotus. I made up a gear shift mechanism. Looks like I might need to make it a bit smaller, but still looks better than no gear shift. It is made up of carved sprue, styrene stock and brass.

Ready for primer. Only the engine cover is removable at this point, and it will be glued on latter.

It certainly does not look like a mini-sub now! Nice work! The tire marking are a great touch! One of those little details that make a model great! --Frank

That is a nice looking car. Very clean paint job. I would have love to see these things race at Indy.
