windscreens

What type of material works well for windscreens. I've been tortured by trying to use clear styrene, but haven't bee successful with heating it to put the curve in it.  It seems more sensitive than the colored styrene.   I either don't get enough heat for it to retain it's shape or it melts just a little and ruins the piece.

Before I try again I thought I'd ask for some help!

It needs to be vivak......other clear plastic doesn't melt they usually just burn up into a crisp.
