I was born and have lived my entire life in Indiana. My boyhood heroes were Jimmy Daywalt (Wabash) and Pat O'Connor ( North Vernon). If those people had never heard of Wilbur Shaw, they certainly can't remember these other greats. The 1958 race was a sad day in my young life. Your last sentence in your post speaks volumes... Tom T.

Get on eBay and look up a guy who calls himself, "plaincheeseburger". He does lots of graphics and just made the decals for this car. Nicest guy in the world and happy to help out. He does conversions and the like. This McGrath car is on my horizon. A while back, he sold one in a different scale. When I contacted him about 1/18th, he was happy to do it and at a very reasonable price. On another note, McGrath was the master at mixing "pop" into fuel. He took a liking to my uncle, Bob Sowle, and taught him how to do it on his Offy midgets. Uncle Bob said Jack was hard to make friends with but once he decided you were OK, he was always there. Nice work on your car by the way! I agree with the previous poster about so few people embracing the history of the 500. It's really sad.

Jordan, Indy, or admin, whichever is correct. Please banish this post to cyberspace since there are not original pictures, etc, left. It makes absolutely no sense with only a couple replies to a non existent original post.
Thanks! Bill
