There was an ad on Velocity Channel for their "Americarna" show on Feb 17. In the ad they said one of the "found" American classics they would feature is "Andretti's '65 Brawner race car". They showed a two-three second clip of a rusted tube frame and some parts sitting on a garage floor. Does anyone have any background/info on this?

I certainly will look for the show to see what the scoop is Sandy. Another car that has really grown on me and wish I had the kit. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks 'eagle', good info there. The ad ran again last night. They actually describe it as "Andretti's '65 Indy race car". Should be an interesting show. Paul, yep, the '65 Brawner is such a cool looking car!

Funny, when I hear Brawner-Hawk, the picture in my mind is always the '69 car! This web site is a treasure... --Frank

One thing which always fascinated me about racing is that cars like these are suddenly discarded like yesterday's newspaper. Having worked in this environment for years, I saw it first hand. It was always, "on to the next one", with little or no time to look back. Suddenly, years and decades have passed. Only in moments of reflection like this, do we ponder what might have happened to the cars we worked on. After looking after them lovingly, in a moment, it was as if they were never there. It is always painful to me to see these cars in sorry states and, even though I know the answers, find it difficult to understand how it happened.
