Hey all,
Need some help with this one.
It looks like a Lotus 97 or 99, but what I'm interested in, is what kit is this?
It appears to be 1/24th scale, and at first I thought it might be a slot car, but I'm not sure anymore.
Its is very basic and definitely was motorized at one time.
I believe IndyCals sells a decal sheet for this car, so if nothing else, I can make a decent display car out of it..
I'm not sure if there are any update parts for this or not...
Anyway, that's it.....
Cheers, Ian

That is one of the Gunze motorized F1 kits and appears to be the Lotus 100T. The series consisted of 5 kits from 1987 and 1988, Williams FW11 and FW12, Lotus 99T and 100T, Benetton B187 and B188, Ferrari F1-87 and 88C and lastly the McLaren MP4/3 and MP4/4. Hosted on Fotki

Thanks for the confirmation, Kurzheck. After staring at 100s of 99T pics, I was thinking it looked more like the 100T.

Thanks guys! Appreciate the help
This kit is so basic, more of a toy than anything... still from what I can tell, it looks accurate shape wise. I guess I can get new set of decals and put it on the shelf...
Cheers, Ian

Your post about the Gunze? kit rung a bell with me. I Think it was the motorized reference. I searched through my kit collection and found a McLaren M23 by a company called 'Tokyo Marui Plastic Model Co.,LTD. I opened it and was pleasantly surprised to find a decent looking, albeit not Tamiya level, model in 1/24th. From what I can see without going into the plastic bags, it's not far off body wise. There are a lot of detail parts and instructions for building either the motorized version or a static model, in which case you can install a darn decent cockpit, complete with molded on safety harness. Has anyone else seen these kits. I wonder if they are the Gunze kits relabeled through 'compensated manufacturing rights'. Who knows?

News Flash! I have a Ferrari 312T from the same company. Apparently I was impressed enough with it to start building it. I guess I lost interest or life got in the way as it sometimes has a nasty habit of doing. Anyway, that's two. Are there any more out there?
