I just completed this tonight, Ryan Hunter-Reay's 2014 Indianapolis 500 winner. It is Calvin Sallee's first generation DW-12 resin kit, with Indycals and carbon fiber decals It is painted Tamiya Chrome Yellow on the body with Model Master Daytona Yellow on the front and sidepod wings. I have nothing but praise for the kit, it went together with few problems. There was a good amount of clean up, but patience and careful construction produced an excellent replica. The 2014 500 was one of the most dramatic in the race's history, in the closing laps after a red flag Ryan Hunter-Reay and Helio Castroneves dueled for the lead. It was high speed chess with Hunter-Reay calling "checkmate" to Castroneves at the finish line. It was the most thrilling race I've ever seen in person and it was a great treat to see my favorite driver win, which was a first for me. This car is a happy reminder of that day. I'm very pleased with this kit, tell me what you think.

Very nice, I hope you get a chance to do some shots of the car outside so we can see all the details and how the paint pops!

Wow! I love it! I'm glad to see you get this darn thing built. Luckily they look good when built up but I'll admit the first kits are kinda of a challenge to build. (thats why they were so cheap in price to justify it)
Boy I just about killed myself producing those first-generation DW12 - no pressure casting, more parts, more scratch building, and plus I wasn't that healthy (basically silly of me taking on such a huge project in the condition I was in at the time)
I have plans to come out with more of these DW12's next spring with some new exciting additions that not only makes the kit better but also makes it easier on myself as well!
