I've had this finished Aurora 1914 Stutz model for awhile. I modified the kit to represent the Barney Oldfield Indy car. The last thing I've been trying to find are decals for the numbers. The fonts on my PC don't show anything resembling the squared number used. Anyone know of a source for numbers or fonts I can experiment with printing?

Just a thought...
The number 3's look like a block font...Try cutting red decal film and piece it together yourself....It will take time, but that maybe the best way in the long run. Model looks great by the way.
Best to you

Forgot to put the image in of what I was looking for. Good idea on pieceing but it got me thinking of printing another font larger than I need and cut off the corners to get it into block form.

Cobra, you might try either 1/48 or 1/32 Military. Some of the US serials and squadron codes were pretty close, especially pre-war. Try Squadron.com or someplace like that. Probably would be in black, but might give you a pattern you can enlarge and then print in red via computer. Just a thought!

Very nice model!
I find that I have to draw most of the lettering for my decals. I use coreldraw, and it's not that hard, just a learning curve and patience at the beginning.

I gave it a go and did the number 3 font for you. Email me at sbenford@cosma.com and I will send it to you.

Wow! The Stutz looks so cool! I've been an interested party seeking info on the Int'l Vanderbilt Trophy race run at San Francisco's 1916 Panama-Pacific Exposition. The Stutz looks like the car that Barney drove! I gotta get me one of those kits! Is it 1/24 or 1/20?

Two Problems: 1. Finally got around to using the letter 3 font from Harveythedog....inkjet printers don't do well on clear decal paper...leaves a transparent finish. Anyone solve this? 2. Anyway I received my order of white paper and printed the letters in red but the ink checked. Anyone have a solution to his. Almost like the white paper is too slick. I was thinking of scuffing it with some 1200 wet or dry paper to see if I could add some bite. I printed over it three times with only slight improvement. Any ideas? Dave
