Nice job. I always liked this car, but this the first time I've seen one built.

This model was built by Brian Skedgel of Thunder Bay Ont. I meet him through Roger Mahoney of Howden Tasmania. He is getting ready to rebuild this model with better Paint and Decals.

I want to badly do this car in 1/18th scale. My question is: What color is it? I saw this car built in 1/43rd twice and one guy painted it red and the other one I saw painted it orange. I lean more to red it being a CAM2 sponsored car but even color photos I have seen tend to look on the orange side. Even the built above looks to be a slight orangish red. Anyone know? Stu

My recollection was that the CAM2 cars were red. Others with better memories or photos would know for sure. Jim

I want to badly do this car in 1/18th scale. I badly want to see you do it also...IMO you have plenty of practice with this car in a larger 1/12 scale!

I go with red also but I'm color blind. At least that is what the military said before they sent me to southeast asia. (3 tours)

It would be telling if we could find a pic of this car next to Foyt's. Jordan

The Cam 2 McLaren M16 that Bobby Allison and Mario drove was Red, the model of the McLaren M24 that Brian built is correct as far as the color it was red and white. This car was at the speedway for the Vintage Indy event the Thur. and Fri. before the Race. It was really nice to see this car again.

There should be no debate. The car was red. TS8 would be just about perfect.

On a side note:
CAM2 was a joint venture between Sunoco, Penske and General Motors to develop a new high-performance motor oil.

Was Linda Vaughn part of the joint venture? She seemed to be a part of everything at that time. I think her riding with the Hurst Floor Shifter was the best. Jim
