For the past 4 years I have been seeking color proof that the 1964 NART Ferrari F1s arrived at Watkins Glen with some extra stripes. Finally, I have found that proof! A chap on the FerrariChat forum came up with a photo of Big John at his first practice on the course and behold the flanking stripes were blue! I know to some you might be thinking so what, but to this dyed in the wool Ferraristi whose fav F1 Ferrari is the 158 this calls for another hunt for a Cox body to replicate an unusual marking on a beautiful F1 car. Don't out bid me on evilbay! Patrick

how much money you have to spend today for a Cox body? The Fernando Pinto full kit is sold actually at circa 105 Euros , 120-130 $... Ok, I realize that I'm looking more and more like F1Tommy.... But this is the market at this moment, it isn't my fault....

I don't think Patrick builds kits. He changes toys into art, and performs magic with kits (Cobra to Ferrari comes to mind). --Frank

LOL! I have forgotten about the 255S Ferrari, Frank! Nice complement thanks. Beppe, I have had one of the Cox Ferraris in my collection since they first came out 50 years ago. They are like an old friend that you have fun with, laugh with, cry with. I probably wouldn't know what to do with a complete kit of the 158! LOL!! Patrick PS- the latest photo turning up shows the stripes as a lighter blue! Those of you who really know me know I'm lovin' it!!

The really impressive thing is how persistent Patrick is in chasing down this bit of arcana No detail is too small, no paint detail is too hidden to hide from a truly dedicated artist And we get to go along for the ride And that's the grat thing about this. But 50 years??!! Really? I remember Cox ads like it was yesterday And I'm not that old am I? Oh I am. Yikes!

50 years ago, commercial slot car tracks were found every two miles. The COX cars were every where! When the bodies got too badly damaged, they went into the trash. When was the last time you saw a commercial slot car track? I'd have to travel to Tampa to find one now. --Frank

I have a track about 30 minutes from me, but the ganas (desire) isn't there anymore. Yet, I still have 4 cars! Patrick

I flashed on something the other day...Ferrari started as a factory in 1947. I was born in...yes, you guessed it 1947! No wonder I was bitten by the Tifosi bug, eh? Patrick
