Patrick
I am always impressed with your builds. Congratulations on overcoming your health issues in the not so distant past.
If I could ask, what do you use for lighting in your work area? The reason I ask is I just moved into a new home and the lighting SUCKS.
You build some nice stuff, real nice.
Could we possibly get a photo of your displays. I would love to see all these great subjects together!
Thanks for taking the time to post. (this board is difficult to post photos on IMO)

Hubie, Thanks for the complements. I have a desk lamp that I got at IKEA. Nothing special , but I have it close as I work. As for the display...hummmm...I don't think I've ever made a photo of all the cars! That's an idea...

I took the kit dash and added the fuel tanks in front of it. I added the gauges decals and bezel rings made from .030 wire curled around the proper diameter rod which were then cut and glued in place with Testors Clear Parts Cement... meanwhile I applied the decals I bought 2 years ago from a slot car parts supplier. Nice decals, but the side numbers are a bit too short... I also continued with the engine detailing, more wires and lines and a decal for the Lucas bomb fuel pump... Finally, I set the tyres up against the sitting car to get the idea, so far so good... It'll have the right stance once the tyres get glued on! I think for the NNL/West I'll celebrate my 51st year of being a Ferraristi with all my Ferraris on display. How fun would that be? Patrick

I would love to see a photo of all your Ferrari builds, Patrick. That photo in the background choked me up, looks a lot like the one I lost about 3 years ago, I have his ashes on my desk.

I have an all black cat. Her name is "Inky" and was found wandering around the streets in the Haughville area of Indy. She is what I call a "forever" kitten as she is very, very small. She is 11 years old.

I love them! As to the Ferrari reunion photo...as soon as I finish this car I take that photo! I'm have a problem fitting the exhaust and rear dampers on. This is the first real problem I've had with this build...I need to think...

Finally got it up on 4 wheels! The engine cover is being refined or "civilized" from the slot body. Photos next time on that. Slow, step at a time process, but it does make for a nice visual model.

Here's the engine cover ready to be vac-formed... and an assembled chassis with the shock/damper units (not so much fun!)glued into place, finally... I'm scrounging for some mirrors and that should be that. Patrick

As to the tires...they are resin copies of the Cox tires from the kit. They match extremely well with the Jonathan Thompson drawings in his Ferrari Formula One book. They look like the Dunlop green and yellow dot tires of the day. For Goodyear tires of 65 use the Hasegawa Honda F1 tires as they are correct. I was asked to have a family portrait of the "Aero-chassis" cars... and the earlier family with them... Now if I had a couple of hot days I could re paint the T,T2,T3 series cars and take the later family photo including the 73 and 74 B3 cars... That's about it so far...the 66 312 F1 is coming along slowly, but that's another story. Patrick

"Stunning nice! An impressive collection to see and very inspirational as well" I couldn't have said it better. Actually, what I said was "Damn, man, what a collection! I need to get back into my workshop!"

I'm totally delighted... great collection of out-of-the-market models!
I have some questions for you, Patrick:
From which bases did you get the 156s (not aero chassis)?
And the 312 B3s ('73 and '74)?

I'm totally delighted... great collection of out-of-the-market models! I have some questions for you, Patrick: From which bases did you get the 156s (not aero chassis)? And the 312 B3s ('73 and '74)? It was such a kick putting the family together for the pix. The Trips 246/60 rear engined car started out as a Hong Kong toy that was bashed together when I got the resin slot body of the front engine 246 (P. Hill's Monza winner...the last win of a front engined racer!) The 156/63 was a vac-formed body of a Lancer slot body. I poured plaster of paris into the body, cleaned op up a bit, then vac formed the results (this model is one of my oldest being made in the early 90's!). The '73 B3 is really two Polistil Ferraris that I cut in two and carefully filed to fit together for the proper wheelbase. The '74 B3 is a rather rare Trinity Models 312 B3 kit that was given to me by Mike Quarterman some 15-20 years ago. I had to Dremel out the cockpit and engine bay as the body was a solid hunk of resin. I had to fake the decals as it didn't have them either, but it did come out well anyway...my homage to Regga!
