That would be the one, was it actually powered by an Aston motor? And was it Brabham's 1961 car?
Still need help on the Navarro Rambler color scheme #50. Does anybody know or remember a cooper running the Rex Mays race in the early 60's ?
Thanks Again
Rick

Does anybody know or remember a cooper running the Rex Mays race in the early 60's ? Thanks Again Rick The Rodriquez Cooper-Aston was Brabham's 1961 car. Kjell Qvale was the entrant an he was the west coast importer of Ason-Martin and a number of other cars. The A-M engine was 4.2 liters and had been very successful in sports car racing, so it seemed like goo idea at the time. For the Navarro car, check this out: justacarguy.blogspot.com/2013/02/700-hp-199-cu-in-amc-rambler-straight-6.htmlThe Cooper only ran Indy in 1961 and then again in 1963, and I think that was it. Jim Kimberly, who entered it in 1961, also bought and entered one of the Mickey Thompson cars in 1962 at Indy. He had a duplicate built by the original builders and I remember seeing both at the Rex Mays in 1963.

Barney Navarro 1968:
Drivers named for #50 in 1967 were Les Scott and Norm Hall.
