Per Toronto Motorsports most recent newsletter...
"With the 2014 IndyCar season now in the books, Greenlight is settings its sights on 2015. Greenlight will be producing more 1:18 scale models (more teams/drivers) and will be offering the new Honda and Chevrolet Aero packages on all of their 2015 diecast models."

Interesting. I wonder if they will will finally produce a DW12 like we see at Indy.

Did they mention 1:64?

Whatever happens, let's hope that it's a whole lot more accurate compared than the last chassis. To have a driver figure, removable cowling, and/or steerable front wheels would be a bonus and a welcome return

That's just Tomo trying to keep people interested. They claimed the same BS back in the Champcar days, promising each time that Action was going to actually use a proper Lola casting rather than a Reynard.
I hope I eat my words, but I doubt it. We won't even know what the final designs look like until after February, so what are the odds they even get it right if they do.

Why would you need steerable front wheels, just asking? Who plays with these cars anyway? Most GL now have the suspensions "welded" together so tight they hardly steer. When I build my customs I make sure they don't steer or roll.

Per this artcle: www.racer.com/indycar/item/107241-honda-2015-aero-kits-will-surpriseThe teams would receive them on March 1st, so in theory, the kits would be finalized since they cannot change after homologation for 2015. How long will it take for Greenlight to get the tooling completed? If they're shipping at the end of the 2015 season (aka August), sales will be pathetic. And since the kits can change in 2016, we'll have another out of date diecast after next year

Again... in theory. I've learned the hard way - and Greenlight has now been burned twice - never start on a project until the car lines up for the start of a race.

Well, whatever happens, let's hope that Greenlight waits to finalize the tooling until AFTER the first race so they don't screw up

Nice delivery from the Greenlight today! Was expecting more of a challenge on these though lol. What's nice is the monoque sidepods and air intake are all piece.

I saw these at the Speedway yesterday. BTW - The museum is chalk full of Penske winners for all the Indycars to Transam and Can Am. However I did not buy one just yet. Thanks Juan for letting us know about the ease of disassembly.

I thought the prototypes showed the cars with corrected "larger" mirrors. That doesn't seem to be the case.

Got this today, pretty nice job from Greenlight. I've already stripped this baby for another Penske. BTW as you know there are several plastic parts which is no worry to me but take note when you strip the camera & fuel buckeye are plastic so don't melt them with stripper. This rear suspension is not chrome, only the front. Not sure if this was a Penske thing or GL mistake so I chromed it with BMF.

I stripped this car, or am trying to, & this white paint must be epoxy or something b/c my stripper or even tried lacquer thinner won't hardly touch it. The red & black comes of clean as a whistle but I'm sanding off the white. I assume the autograph cars have the same paint....enjoy.

That stuff worked on all the old ones even the Legge TruCar. Give that a try. Can find it in automotive paints at Walmart.

Yeah I made the mistake buying a True Car donor once sheesh! I'll give it a try.

I got my Juan winner a few days ago. Did anyone else notice that they got the graphics wrong? They have the larger "Verizon" on the right side of the engine cover and the shorter one on the left side. All they had to do was look at the pictures on the box.

Yes, hopefully I'll have some silk-screened decals available for that in the coming month or so.

I love the fact that GL changed from wheel "rivets" to screws, praise the Lord.

Um, on that wheel / screw / rivet deal you mentioned, how do you get the front wheels off the older version?

Um, on that wheel / screw / rivet deal you mentioned, how do you get the front wheels off the older version? Some just pull them off risking breaking off the hubs & rotors, I heat the rivet with a soldering pencil for a few seconds & they pull out nicely. But that's just me.

Engine cover? I fixed the Montoya as well, I stripped it lol.
Wonder why Greenlight only chromed the front suspension on Penske cars.

Lol, well maybe you're ahead of the game for 17 days from now But I'm going for the Indy winners, so Greenlight did 90% of the job well for 2015.
