It's been a year since my last visit, finally was able to remember my username This is a scratch built slot car in 1/32 scale of the 1967 Honda RA300 Formula 1 car.

Brilliant design and execution. The front and rear suspensions are works of art. Beautiful.
For those younger than me (most of you) a fact somewhat lost over the years is that this chassis was built by Lola, not Honda. Surtees' connection with the firm brought this along as I recall.
Thanks for sharing! MJ

Good to be back, thanks for looking. Michael, it was supposed to have some of your dzus fastener decals, but I ran out of time. Looking forward to trying them for future projects. Say you won't really run that!!!! I'm not running it...but other people will. It is participating in a proxy race, in which other drivers will race the car.

Thanks for the kind words guys!
In the first race of the series, the #14 Honda limped across the finish line with gearbox problems. I think it was 19th out of 20 cars on the grid. It has been repaired for the second race.
I'm assuming that links to other forums aren't allowed so I won't post it here, but if anyone would like to see open-wheel scale model cars racing on a model racing tracks, search in your web browser for the "GPd Garagista". You'll find a bunch of Formula 1 model cars in action. The tracks provide a beautiful setting, like a giant diorama come to life. Slot cars can't be quite as accurate as the beautiful static models on this site, but serious attempts are made to build nice looking cars to scale, based on authentic liveries.

In the second race of the season, the #14 Honda finished in 17th place out of 20 starters. A bad choice of tire compunds and a lack of horsepower combined to undermine the team's effort.
