Hey everyone!
i was wondering if anyone could give me some guidance with the helmets on the figures for the greenlight 1:18 diecast. I tried using the helmet wraps from pattos but they looked pretty shoddy. The rest of the decals look gorgeous on the car but the helmet seemed like it wasn't the correct scale or I just really suck at doing it. Does anyone have any advice for doing these? I'm not above painting them but I don't think I have the skills to work that minutely...
the drivers I am trying to do are Dario Franchitti, Tony Kanaan's 2011 green helmet, and James Hinchcliffe
any advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated!

Great to have you here, Jake. Patto typically uses artwork from computer sim-racing communities. Which is why he has such a large library, he sells other people's work. That is also why the helmet decals do not fit, they were made to fit a different model. You can ask him if he'll make adjustments and send you another set of driver decals. Maybe someone else has some ideas to help you out as I've never dealt with him.

I print my own on my home ink jet printer. I have a few drawing programs but you can just use MS paint and transfer them to WORD. Print them on paper and cut them out to check your sizes. Once you are sure the size is correct, print them out on decal paper. Clear coat the decals before dipping them in water and apply. Use a decal softner like Microsol to get them to lay down.

You know, I have all of the original source PSD files for those "stolen" helmets. I wonder if someone could create a decal template in AI with proper sizing for the greenlight figure and I could apply the graphics to it. I wouldn't mind making them available if someone better with measurements and such were able to give me a "box" to work within, so to speak. I left the wireframe on this (the 3d model coordinates, so to speak) so you could see what each piece is. The top left is the top of the helmet, which could be worked into a circular "box" and the helmet, if printed and wrapped into a circle would be the full helmet graphics (minus the top and visor). We just would need to work out how to distort the image to make the helmet decal "fit".
