Ebbro Tyrrell 002 and Lotus 49B - arriving NEXT MONTH!

This is not a drill - my Ebbro distributor put in their order yesterday and the Tyrrell 002 Francois Cevert 1970 (rounded nose kit) is due at the end of August. Those of you who have put down a deposit, should have received an email from me asking you to confirm that you still want the kit - please reply accordingly.

Those of you who still wish to get in on this first batch, I suggest putting a deposit down within the next 24 hours so that I can finalize my kit total with the distributor.

Furthermore, coming in at the same time is the Ebbro Lotus 49B (high wing, 1968). If you wish to get in on the first round of these, please let me know via email - [e-mail]. I will not ask for a deposit on this one, but I request that you please email me only if you are completely certain that you will buy one as soon as I have it in stock. I will order a couple more than I get requests for, but a request will guarantee you get one. I will include the tobacco sponsor decals with this kit.

Both kits are still $59.95 which is the same as it has been for a few years now.

Had a talk with the US distributor for Ebbro today. Both Lotus 72C kits and the Lotus 49 are no longer in production. I will be getting one more Rob Walker Lotus (the distributor has two left), and that may be the last of that one for awhile. I do expect they will re-issue the 49 sooner than later - that car is just too popular. On some things they are just as out of the loop as I am. They said they almost fainted when the word came down from Ebbro a few days ago that they can finally order a Tyrrell!

Also, keep in mind the Lotus 49B high-wing is the car Mario Andretti made his F1 debut in... putting it on pole at Watkins Glen! I will offer a package of the 49B and Andretti decals.

If Mario didn't race that last USGP in 82, Monza 82 would have been his last race... and he would have been on pole in his first and last F1 start!

Well, here it is mid September. What's the news... huh?... huh?... huh? I NEED my Tyrrell!

Now the distributor is being told end of this month... frustrating. Ebbro makes great kits but their business savvy is amongst the worst I've ever seen. The fact that the distributor was able to put in an order was a good sign but at this point I simply don't believe anything Ebbro says about release dates util I have something in-hand. They tell the distributor something, they relay it to me and we all end up looking bad.
