Looks like another boring weekend on the forum...so I guess while everyone is out at the carnival this weekend with their family we will be here working hard on some model building! I did start on this car a while back, but I decided to make its own thread here because the other thread is just too much clutter. Here is what I already did with this one....this has been one of those backwards/upsidedown builds mainly because I was developing this car while building this one. mb2501.proboards.com/post/48039mb2501.proboards.com/post/49361mb2501.proboards.com/post/49440But at the same time I'll be working on the new revised DW12 kit at the same time and will be developing the NEW resin suspension pieces that I'm very excited about and the whole new rear tail section....The NEW DW12 kit will be a better building experience. I'm trying my hardest to get all of the molds done this week. After that it will be easier sailing and I should be able to keep this DW12 in stock forever and ever and ever and ever..... Oh yeah I got most of the decals on the 2013 winner I still need to prep and paint the rear bumpers and add carbon fiber all over the place....plus some clean up. BTW its really not that bad to apply these decals.....NO REALLY IT ISN'T. It just takes a good amount of solvaset and some time and they all lay down. Michael just did a wonderful job on these that it makes it so much easier than most other decals.

This is sharp looking, Calvin. Can't wait to see the new pieces you have been dreaming up for this one!

Got some more done but I need make some more parts to continue (See rubber story) All of the decals are on and clear coated with Testors lacquer. I recommend and so does Michael to clear coat after the graphics then apply the logo decals, then clear....so.... Black - Graphics - clear - Logos - clear. I wouldn't be afraid of decaling this car as if you use Solvaset it will lay these decals down pretty darn good and just dab it with a t-Shirt (Don't rub just dab) For people that love decaling this is like going to decal heaven! ( I LOVE decaling - its my favorite part of model building )

This is definitely a car that has grown on me the more I see it in scale.

So, you are not even 1/3 of the way to your goal and the year is almost 2/3 up?? Time to hurry up my friend!!
For how popular TK is, TK builds are pretty rare. I believe this was his first IndyCals sheet and the only non-Australian decal for him that I can think of is the Scale Coachworks McD car from 1999.
Back to the build, you did a great job from head to toe. The kit looks the part of the DW12, the decal work was well done, and the build itself was noteworthy. Thanks for doing a WIP, too!!
