I need an Apache Airlines resin kit now, I hope Calvin gets some more going I'll try to get a few more ready by this weekend.....I've had 5 too many things to do lately......its kinda funny how busy a little resin business can be! Its amazing how well these little cars have done especially at first thinking that selling 9 of them would be a success....the the only reason I built this car was so Craig could have one of his favorite cars that caught his heart back in 1960 when he saw this big cowboy named Jimmy Bryan put it on......he didn't get in the car, he put it on, it was so small. My goal is to have a full inventory of all my kits at all times at any time.

Update, the Apache Airlines decals are sold out. Thanks to everyone starting with Calvin, Gary and Walt who helped make this project possible.

Here's my Apache Air car inching along. The body has been sanded (thanks Walt) and is close to primer time. I'm playing around with the exhaust pipe from the AMT Watson to see if that looks a little better. I did some heating and bending to get it straight. Also I'm using a set of aluminum Parks by Parks intake pipes I found in my parts box that look real good. The Thriftway Too in the background is for Calvin who has inspired me to get back to it and finish it!

Very cool!
Do you plan to make a removable engine cover on the "TOO" as it looks like you are paying a lot of attention to the ol' Merlin?

Very cool! Do you plan to make a removable engine cover on the "TOO" as it looks like you are paying a lot of attention to the ol' Merlin? I'm leaning toward no just to keep the build simple. But it would be kind of a shame to leave that Merlin covered up. The top of my "Too" hull was beautifully and smoothly cast, but the bottom had some pot holes. I've filled the big ones with Milliput and I'm glazing the small ones with 3M blue putty. Not a problem to deal with, just a little time consuming. Cal, how was your "Too" kit for bubbles? Sandy

I would just make it curbside dockside. I thought about myself and it was just going to be way too complicated to worry about....I was more worried about the paint and wood work. I just figured that I have other boats with exposed engines.
The air bubbles weren't that bad, its when you get resin with pin holes is what gets time consuming......
FYI I'm still waiting for the decals to show up, Sandy....its taking longer than I expected.

the man is turning into a regular building machine… with all this free time you should start remodeling your kitchen. duane Nope, Patrick and Calvin are building machines. I'm just a amateur compared to those guys. If I knew someone who would cut me a deal on some cabinets...

Just to keep my member in good standing status (OK Duane I'm tossing you a softball here), I did a little more on the Apache car. Mostly putzing with the exhaust pipe. The AMT wheels will be stripped and painted an andronic gray mixed with magnesium. That could change when I sit down at my paint desk and reach in the drawer for the colors. Testors Jet Exhaust gives a good color for some wheels also. The AMT exhaust looks a bit thinner and more 'scale' than the metal tube in the kit so I might go this route. Calvin, thanks again for releasing this cool little kit. Comments and tips always welcome.
