I started this project following Calvin's Mauri gluebomb. Here I make Revson's McLaren M23 from a Roxy Toys friction car from Hong Kong. I've wanted to do this car for so long and I got tired of waiting to score a Mauri kit...So, from Evilbay comes Roxy Toys #306, which is the early smaller type of air scoop...
This toy seems to be closely related to the Mauri kit as the this scoop fit perfectly on the Mauri chassis location.
This is a good thing. Anyway, I still had the front suspension unit from, get this...my first Maurt kit back in 1982 sometime.So, I got a set of Michael's great decal set of Peter's car and enjoyed applying them...
the engine for this was an old Mauri Cosworth that I sliced and diced until it began to match the dimensions and looks...
Then I ran into my biggest problem. F! and Indy car rear tires are similar in size, but the Indy fronts are taller than the F1 fronts...
I took the suggestion that I get some sire sets from Kevin, until then I'll use the fronts from the Mauri kit. Photos tomorrow.
