I was looking forward to the release of the Yank 1/43 scale F5000 cars and purchased the Brian Redman Boraxo and '74 Viceroy Lolas already built versions, very nice, but expensive! Since I wanted to build the Shadow car and the '75 Viceroy, I bought the kits for these 2 cars, the decals for the "heat spectrums" to do the Shadow were from Indycals since these were not in the Yank kit. Anyway, years ago, Brian Redman and John Surtees autographed a small diorama I made of 4 Can Am cars and a figurene of John Surtees standing with them. This was up at the Historic Road Races at Road America, this past summer I decided I would try and get his autograph alongside his car. Then the project turned into putting 4 cars on the track, then I found the Denizon figurenes and decided to add 4 drivers. Didn't finish the project in time to go to RA, only got done a few months ago. Couldn't find a photo of Brian R. in a drivers suit from '75, took a chance and sent an email to him at Targa 66 (?) and he responded, having an acquaintance send a bunch of photos to me! Class act and very nice guy to boot!
Anyway, scene is a mish-mash of cars from a couple of years, used a photo of Long Beach straight-away to help with lines on the "track". I did see a F5000 race at RA in '75 as a teenager with my family, so this is just a nice reminder of that day!
I am a "point and shoot" picture taker with no skill nor knowledge of advanced settings so I apologize for the blurry pics!

Here is what what I "patterned" this from, the 2 cars in the front row are diecast, I built the 2 in the 2nd row.
