What model kit might best represent his Indy car?

I was at Indy in 1996 for Pole Day.....One writer from another country was having a difficult time saying Eliseo Salazar......and It sounded like "Sleezy old Sandbar" when ever he said his name...Very funny and Eliseo was a very nice guy with a great sense of humor and would smile when anyone would call him that.
Best to you

Anything in an extra wide No that was his '96 car I have a few diecast assembly kits based off of this mold I believe. Was painted in phantom/generic paint but bought them b/c of the possibility of doing a mid-90s Lola build. That's about all I know of as the only '95 Lola I remember seeing is the Menards version with the huge engine cover. Jordan

As a Chilean-American I am proud that Salazar represented Chile in the international racing scene. I appreciate that some of you have problems with his driving. However, he was racing and not you. Perhaps your driving decisions may be better, perhaps not.
Is there someone that I can contact concerning examples of his cars? I am not an expert at CART style racing.

It's alright - we don't have to love each other's favorite to get along. Here's what I could find on the first site that I searched - not much but it at least gives you the rear wing logos. Just curious, why '95? Jordan

No particular reason Jordan. I just don't know much about CART or IRL racing. Suggestions?

Here are his three most significant cars in my opinion
1995 - Dick Simon Racing - raced from 33rd to 4th at the Indy 500 1997 - Team Scandia - won season finale at Las Vegas (only IRL win) 2000 - AJ Foyt Enterprises - 3rd at Indy & 4th in IRL Points (both career bests)
None of these cars will be easy to find in scale. Honestly, the '97 IndyCars looked almost identical to me. That is important since Arie's '97 Indy 500 winning G-Force is available from Bill Jorgensen. So this body with some custom decals could be made into the car of Eliseo's only IRL win. Just my $0.02

Patrick, I want to say Racing Champions had a diecast of the 1995 car. I know you were looking for models but that as close as I can find. Also, ebay has some Eliseo Salazar pictures and cards on there for sale right now.

Hi PAtrick,
Building ANY Indy car is a step in the right direction and your being an Eliseo fan is what makes racnig special. We all have our favorites (only mine are no longer racing! LOL!!) and friendly *competition* is what is fun. Being a true fan is what everything is based on.

As he was known amongst his competitors in the paddock, "Greasy Old Salad Bar".

SWT500....
Eliseo is a great guy!!!! The story behind that is one foreign reporter couldn't pronounce his name properly and what he said sounded like "Sleazy Old Salad Bar"...and no one lagged more than Eliseo......I stilt think how "King Hiro" got his nick-name is better.
Best to you!!

If I'm not mistaken, Salazar ran a 95 Lola in 1995 and 1996. Bill Jorgensen made a 1/25 scale curbside, 95 Lola sometime ago. You may want to contact him, or see if someone may have an extra one available. I believe the bigger problem will be the markings for the car. Jim
