This is a scratch built 1/32 scale slot car. It is a model of the 1963 Moskvich G4, a car that raced in the Soviet Union's national "Formula 1" championship. It had all of 76 horsepower! Fabricating the body shell The sketch used as a reference Body Mock Up Chassis Mock Up Brass and Steel Chassis A few dabs of paint... A trial marriage... Trying to keep things organized... Ready for final assembly. It ain't pretty... ...but it sure is slow!

Cool history on this one. Being ugly is just part of the car's appeal. You did a great job on it, too!

OMG! Something I don't know anything about! I've heard of Moscovich GT car, but not the F1 car.

This is a really awesome build. Don't know anything about it but it's cool. Maybe I will repost in the "I learned something interesting today" category. Nice work.

Thanks for looking. I thought it was interesting too. I'd like to learn more about it, but there is very little information to be found. It had never occurred to me that the Soviet Union had a national Formula 1 series.

This car was in response to the "Space Race"...yes, IIRC it was called the "Race Race" or the "Rat Race" depending on your political affiliation.
